After a 35 year career as an HR and Workplace Learning Executive with some of Canada’s largest financial institutions, I started HRMacDonald: Training and Development.
We consult with boards, CEOs and HR leaders and provide the customized services and workshops necessary to increase organization productivity and improve results.
We specialize in capacity building training for relationship managers and for HR, project and other professionals — anyone who needs to develop productive relationships with employees, internal clients or external partners.
The Arts of Influence™ workshops reflect my experience as a hands-on relationship manager and trusted HR advisor to hundreds of senior executives and business leaders.
HR Master Class workshops reflect another passion - the development of the consulting, OD and professional skills of HR business partners and generalists.
I’ve managed and coached almost two hundred HR consultants in my career, led HR teams on a wide range of mergers, acquisitions, divestitures and joint venture projects and was one of the pioneers of HR Outsourcing and the use of eHR. I have managed innovative business transformation projects including hundred million dollar BPO implementations and international shared service arrangements.
Since 2009, I have also worked as an adjunct faculty member and partial-load professor teaching HR and other management courses at the University of Toronto, Scarborough and at the School of Business, Humber Institute of Technology and Advanced Learning.
Fixing troubled projects, dealing with team and inter-company conflict, designing and implementing complex internal and inter-company organization structures and helping people come together for improved performance, I learned the importance of well-developed negotiation and influencing skills.
Over the last decade, I shared my learning in scores of interviews and seminars and at hundreds of presentations around the world - at private consultations, in university classrooms and as a keynote presenter at public conferences.
Now, in my workshops and as a speaker, consultant, author and HR professional, I share this learning with you and your team.
